Looking for a place to catch up with your friends? Already need a break from Lockes? Want to explore Riverdale more? Luckily, MC has some amazing restaurants nearby and several of them are offering outdoor seating! It is important to keep our community safe during these times and outdoor seating has been a popular way to enjoy the experience of going out to eat while still following the state guidelines for COVID-19. From Italian-style to brunch places, here is a list of some restaurants to check out this semester for whatever you may be craving!

Salvatore’s of Soho

This is one of my favorite restaurants around campus! Sal’s has tables lined up around their restaurant to continue their dining experience outdoors during the pandemic. Located up on Riverdale Ave, Sal’s offers some amazing Italian food at a great price! It’s a great restaurant to go with friends and a must-try if you haven’t already!

An Beal Bocht

Although I have never eaten here personally, I have only heard rave reviews from An Beal! They have a beautiful outdoor dining area available mimicking a patio and decorated with flowers. This Irish cafe on 238th, located right next to Overlook Manor, offers everything from brunch to dessert and is definitely on my list to try next!

Yo-Burger

A great restaurant for a quick bite. Yo-Burger has just what its name says, burgers and frozen yogurt (as well as fries of course). Right outside their building, they have plenty of tables available for outdoor seating. Whether you prefer veggie, turkey, or beef burgers, or just want a quick treat, check out Yo-Burger up on Riverdale Ave!

The Last Stop

A popular bar and grill located right on Broadway, The Last Stop is now offering outdoor dining options as well. Offering everything from hand-helds to brunch, this is a great place to find some comfort food right off campus!

Fontenova Tapas & Tacos

Another quick walk from campus, Fontenovas is a local tapas and tacos restaurant on 242nd. They have a few tables available outside for lunch and dinner. Check them out if you’re looking for Spanish-styled comfort food.

The city has so many different foods available to try, and lucky for us, MC has several only a short distance away. Whether you are just looking for a change from the dining hall or fulfilling a craving, you can still have the dining experience you want during the pandemic with these restaurants.
