5 Fall Trends Spotted At MC

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Manhattan chapter.

Fall has officially settled in here in NYC and despite the latest warm weather, MC students are taking this year’s fall fashion trends and rocking them all over campus. Whether it’s an easy vest thrown on over a light long sleeve or cute knee highs to complete an outfit, here are five girls that have mastered the art of fall fashion with some quick tips on how you could take an outfit from simple to chic in just a few minutes!

1. Vest

Starting on a casual note, sophomore Education major Ellie Siwicki’s favorite fall trend is a vest. By throwing her navy blue vest from Old Navy over her lightweight grey long-sleeved t-shirt, she takes the simple t-shirt and dark jeans look to the next level. Keeping the rest of her look simple, she has pulled her hair back into a ponytail, thrown on a classic baseball hat and sunglasses from Gap and tossed on some Sperry boots. This look is a perfect way to be comfortable, warm and still put together. A great outfit for a day of classes and club meetings!

2. Knee Highs

For those wonderful days when your class gets canceled or you have some extra time to get ready in the morning, sophomore Communication major Amy Cardoza loves to add knee highs to her outfit to make it look that much more put together. Amy has paired her cream knee highs from Target with a pair of brown boots from Charlotte Russe. Her navy blue skirt from PacSun with her loose sweater make this outfit quick and practical, but still comfortable on those days where it isn’t quite as chilly.

3. Light Jacket and Scarf

If you’re one known to accessorize, this next look is for you! Sophomore Communication major and Jasper Cheerleader Jordan Bautsch loves adding a pop to her outfit whenever she can. Jordan transforms this simple white tank top and jeans into fall fashion inspiration by throwing on her lightweight green jacket, black scarf and statement necklace – all of which are from Old Navy. These easy add-ons and black boots from Charlotte Russe pull Jordan’s outfit together. Perfect for a busy girl who needs to get ready quick for a day of classes.

4. Flannel

Putting a professional twist on this fall favorite is Brianna DelSanto, a sophomore Education major. By pairing her cute, oversized flannel with a black dress and flats, this outfit makes going to class on a brisk fall morning to work in the afternoon simple! The best part about this outfit? Brianna got her dress from Goodwill, flannel from Walmart and flats from Target, making this outfit super cheap and adorable!

5. Dress and Boots

Keeping it professional is junior Communications major and Jasper Cheerleader, Mary Burke. Mary’s classic long-sleeve black t-shirt dress keeps her comfy and warm, but pairing it with her brown boots and plaid scarf make this another perfect school-to-work outfit.

Use any of these tips to complete your outfit this fall and you’ll be sure to stand out, whether it’s in class, at work, or even in Locke’s! Happy outfit planning, collegiates!
