Valentine’s Day, But Make It a Single Edition

Loving yourself before anyone else is the most important choice you can make. Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love, especially when you are in a relationship, but what do you do when you are not in a relationship? It seems like just another day to be upset that you are alone and don’t have a partner, when you do not have to be! There are a lot of things you can do to show love to yourself, and loving yourself before anyone else is the most important choice you can make.

Treat yourself to a at home spa day. Spa days can be relaxing, you can do face masks, take a bath, or give yourself a manicure. Having a spa day for yourself can relax your muscles and ease your mind as you are only focused on taking care of yourself. Let your body know how much it is loved and appreciated each and every single day.

It can sound cliché to buy yourself flowers as you may be hoping for someone else to get them for you. However, knowing that you are picking out a bouquet of beautiful flowers simply because it makes you feel good is the only thing that matters. Flowers for yourself can be used as decorations around your home and every time you look at them you have a special memory of doing something kind for yourself.

Throughout all day on Valentine’s Day you may see couples enjoying lunch or dinner together. Go out to your favorite spot to grab a bite to eat and even dress up to make the most of it. You can also go to the grocery store and make your favorite home cooked meal. Making food that you grew up eating or making the food your family makes together can always be a comforting activity for many people.

Enjoy a relaxing afternoon by grabbing your favorite book, a cup of tea, and your favorite blanket and have a nice afternoon snuggled up reading your favorite novel. By reading you are exercising your mind and imagination. Allowing your imagination to run wild with your favorite story is something so powerful and no one will be able to take that away from you.
Pro Tip: maybe avoid romance novels on Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate love, it’s not only for couples but also for loving yourself. Make sure to do your favorite things this Valentine’s Day if you are celebrating alone. Celebrate the love you feel for yourself everyday!
