My Transition From Highschool to College

Once I exited the doors of my high school, I knew everything would change. The next step of my life would be approaching quickly, and many things would change, like the people I considered my friends would become strangers and figments of my past, and my routine would change drastically.

Things people don’t realize during your senior year is that you or your friends you have made could be moving away. So I recommend you try to stay in contact with them the best you can and don’t be like me. I didn’t keep in touch with any of them, and now I learned what they are up to from what they post. Having a friend you have known for a while could help with the transition since you both could be experiencing the same things. You can share each other’s experiences and help each other out. I have started a new school and don’t know anyone. I ultimately have no one to talk to about how it is going with anyone. So, I am trying to become more involved on campus to meet new people and make friends.

During my first day of class, I didn’t think much about it. I just showed up and left. I didn’t notice until I arrived home how much time I had left of the day. When I went to high school, I would wake up at 5 a.m. and come home at 4 p.m. Now that I am in college, I would wake up close to 7 a.m. and return home at 11 a.m., sometimes earlier. I realized I still had half of my day left. With the time I had left of the day, I would nap, which would eventually turn into a deep sleep. I ended up waking up at 6 p.m. and wasted my day sleeping. I always hate when that happens when I could have spent my time doing something worthwhile. So, I decided to spend my time doing things that would bring me enjoyment. They always have plenty of activities and clubs on campus, so I decided to join a club. It has been the best decision I have made. I meet a few new people and spend my time right.

College can be slightly the same in certain areas, but for the most part, it is different. So, I plan to enjoy my time in college because I know it will pass by so quickly that I won’t notice a thing. I plan to have the time of my life, making new friends and connecting with people. So far, it has been great. I’ve attended every class and learned a couple of things. I even think I made a new friend. I hope this year will be great, and I will have a ton of fun!

I enjoyed reading your article. I like hearing that you have already enjoyed college so far and already made friends. I agree that joining a club is a great way to make friends.
