Make Money Without a Full-Time Job: Realistic & Manageable

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Lynn chapter.

Not everyone has a full-time job, especially college students. Some people may not like working under a boss, or others may have interest in making some money while in school. For that, there is an alternative to a full-time job or even a half-time position. Here are five ways to make money on your time in your tracks.

Thrift and Sell

Thrift shopping has become quite popular in the last few years. Giving clothes a second life while helping save the environment has caught many people’s eye to thrift shopping along with saving money. Since clothes are cheap at thrift shops, it’s easy to buy and sell for more than you bought the clothes or product. People invested in thrifting go to stores like GoodWill or Salvation Army and find expensive items at a considerable discount. There are many apps to sell your clothes on, like Poshmark, Facebook marketplace, Nextdoor, and on your personal social media pages. There is no trick to this or more of an explanation. Put a reasonable price for a product or piece of clothing you got and make more than you spent.

Babysit

If you like children, and want to make good money, then what should you do? Babysit! If you are unsure where to start, you will get a head up if you are CPR certified. You can search CPR training near me on google and find many resources in your area. The best resources to find babysitting jobs are Facebook groups and care.com. I recommend you look at other people’s profiles to see how much they charge and set your price in a similar range. Good luck!

You have probably had lazy days where you didn’t feel like making food, so you ordered DoorDash. Did you know that you can become a dasher with a few simple steps? You have to be 18 years old or older to be a dasher, have your car, and provide your social security number and the license number for a background check. Pick the times you want to work.
