TikTok has been an app that is always keeping up with the trends. It could be makeup, clothes, electronics, and even water bottles. TikTok has been the rising app for years now and it seems to not be slowing down. Not only does it make objects trends, but people too. So the question is… is TikTok the new way to become a celebrity?
We can look at people like Charli D’Amelio, Addison Rae, and the newest it girl Alix Earle. These girls have become famous for doing many different things like dancing, lip syncing, and get ready with me. This is how almost anyone can become famous nowadays. You can just go on TikTok, follow the trends, and post consistently. It is not easy but it makes it more accessible for everyone to become famous if they want to.
Before TikTok I feel like it was harder to become famous or have a trending video. The other platform before TikTok where you could become famous was on YouTube. YouTube was where most people would show their creative videos. YouTube brought us people like James Charles, Emma Chamberlain, Jeffery Star, David Dobrik, and more. YouTube was once the “it” app where people would become famous. But now I feel that YouTube has taken a backseat since TikTok has been around.
Even though both of these apps are a way to show expression through video content, I feel like TikTok is more used. TikTok has many users and they are completely dominating the game and being a top app and making people famous.
