Last week nearly 500 movies were released on Disney Plus, including nostalgic throwbacks and new hit movies. Finally, all of your favorite movies are in one place so it is time to get some candy, popcorn and your favorite cozy blanket to binge watch this list of movies that will totally inspire you to be a girl boss.

Captain Marvel

Carol Danvers, the star in Captain Marvel, has all the traits of a major girl boss. She is loyal, funny, fearless and independent. She also saved the entire world from an intergalactic crisis which is kind of impressive. If you are a Marvel fanatic then you can watch Captain Marvel and all the other marvel movies from beginning to end on Disney Plus.

Frozen

If there is one thing that I learned from Frozen it is to “Let it go.” At the beginning of Frozen, the people of Arendelle were afraid of Elsa because she did not know how to control her powers. Over time, the snow queen learned how to use her ice powers and as she did she “let go” of her insecurities. Not to mention, Frozen 2 just came out so it is time to rewatch the original in preparation for the sequel.

Moana

A young girl originally held back on her island by traditions and customs found an adventurous side of herself. Moana broke free from her family’s customs and sailed out on a dangerous mission to save her people from transforming into black ash. Along her voyage she faced many setbacks such as battling enormous monsters. In the end, she came out stronger and found her true identity. The fierce Moana showed us that a little adventure is good for the soul.

Brave

Curly red-head, Merida, is a skilled archer who wanted to carve her own path in life but was held back by age-old traditions in the kingdom. She was carefree and refused to conform to the typical feminine activities that her parents pushed on her. Merida was willing to speak up for herself and show us the true meaning of courage.

The Incredibles

All your favorite Pixar movies, including the incredibles, are also on Disney Plus. In the incredibles, Mr.Incredible is summoned to battle a crazed robot but he soon realized it was not a one person job. The super-power family came in to save the day and that is when we saw the true potential of Violet and Elastigirl. The mother and daughter both taught us what girl power is all about when they fought crime together in the city.

Pocahontas

The Disney tale, Pocahontas, is focused on two groups of people divided by hate. Throughout the story, Pocahontas taught us valuable lessons about how peace is better than war and how you should always stand up for what is right. Her bravery throughout the tale is incredibly inspiring for any girl boss.

Mulan

Mulan is a young lady that struggled with the idea of getting married due to her independence. After Mulan realized her father was in danger she cleverly impersonated herself as a man to go train in the Chinese Military. She basically saved all of China with her skills and wit and showed us that a woman can do anything a man can do.

The Cheetah Girls

The Cheetah Girls is a classic childhood movie that shows us the power of what happens when girls unite. The four girls came together to pursue a dream of musical fame. You can binge all three cheetah sista movies on Disney Plus: The Cheetah Girls, The Cheetah Girls 2 and The Cheetah Girls One World.

The Color of Friendship

This inspiring movie, based on a true story, took two girls from opposite sides of the world and collided them into one. At the beginning, both girls were shocked by one another’s race but by the end of the storyline the two girls changed each other’s lives for the better. The story not only taught us to accept diversity but also showed us the wonders that come from friends with different backgrounds.

Cadet Kelly

Celebrity Icon, Hillary Duff, stared as Kelly Collins in this female empowering movie. Kelly was a free-spirited girl who was forced to attend military school. After a great deal of struggles Kelly decided to join the drill team. Kelly’s passion for the drill team taught us that women can do anything.

Disney Plus is $6.99/month or $69.99/year and has all ten of these girl boss movies along with several other Disney classics. The streaming destination includes: Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic films to watch anytime and anywhere.
