Follow Your Own Trend

Girls are constantly changing their style based on new fashion trends in the media. Because of this, people are following everyone else and not finding their sense of style and expressing themselves in ways they genuinely love. Fashion trends have both a positive and negative impact on society. Trends have put girls in a box of what they should be wearing at a certain point in the year. Girls are constantly changing clothes they love to wear to follow trends that will help their image and other people’s views. With a perfect balance between originality and new clothes or accessories to explore that is popular, every girl can walk around following their trend confidentially.

Self expression

What you wear is a form of self-expression. Aside from personality and treatment of others,  Clothes have such a significant impact on a person’s identity. Outfits show if someone is more feminine, masculine, sporty, or creative. What people see on others is part of a first impression. Every person has a style, but most likely has changed based on trends because, in recent years, society has tried to tell people what’s cool and what’s not. That’s a huge issue because it’s teaching young girls what they could be considered uncool, and it could change how people view them. Trends have the capability to take away from finding your own style.

My outlook on Trends

I have always loved wearing dresses and clothes that are on more of the feminine side. I have loved specific shoes that have gone in style, but after a new shoe comes out and the old shoe is out of style and not cute to wear, I have felt pressure to change to fit into the style. This has taken away from what I have loved because I was so worried about fitting into society, especially growing up in my early teen years. I have learned that there is  no such thing as uncute clothes because everyone has a different opinion on what clothes are cute. Trends have damaged creativity and originality within fashion. Popular fashion tells what people should wear because so many people follow them. People only change their style when something is popular to wear. Make your own popularity. Create your outfit and own it.

A healthy balance

There should be a healthy balance between everything in life, and the same goes for clothes people wear! Expressing yourself in outfits and fashion is essential, and trends have taken that away from people and authentic forms of self-expression. People should only wear what they love whether it’s in style or not. Trends can inspire other people, but when it changes their whole look, it is an issue. But to follow it to a limit. To not take away their sense of style for what’s popular at the time.

Society will not change, but people can change their outlook on dealing with the forever-changing trends of fashion. Love what you wear, and do not let anyone change what you find is cute. Nobody is the same; everyone is different, so why should we all wear the same things and judge others who do not. Follow your trend. Take what you love from trends but keep your unique outfit choices and do not let anyone influence you to change.
