Disney trips are always fun. The Walt Disney World theme parks are open year-round, and depending what time of year it is, will affect what you will see. They have different types of parades and festivities going on- especially during the holiday season. Growing up, I would go to the Christmas party at Magic Kingdom called Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas. There are also other things at other parks and even at the hotels you can do. No matter what you do, you are sure to have a good time!

Parks

Like mentioned earlier, at each of the parks they have different celebrations to take part in. My favorite part of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas is that they have hot chocolate and “snow” on Main Street right before the parade starts. Along with this, they have special treats and snacks at bakeries and shops around the park. I remember from when I was younger, at EPCOT they have all of the different Santa Clauses come out and have shows where they talk to children about how Christmas is done in that country and their holiday culture. My favorite was Saint Nikolas in Germany. At Hollywood Studios, they have a parade where you can see Santa Claus, a Frozen sing-a-long, as well as many treats. Finally, at Animal Kingdom, while they have more limited ways to celebrate the holidays, they still have great decorations and parades.

Hotels

I still love going around to the four hotels around Magic Kingdom and seeing the Christmas Trees. Each one has a different themed tree that goes along with the theme of the hotel. For example, they put tropical flowers in the tree at the Polynesian and tipis at Wilderness Lodge. And while they don’t put a tree at the Grand Floridian, they have a little pop-up store where you can get holiday cookies. They also have a mural made out of gingerbread there where you can take pictures!

There are so many activities to experience this time of year at Disney. Whether you want to have a traditional, cultural, or more relaxed experience, there is something for you! Make sure wherever you go to do it with a friend!
