This past weekend I was lucky enough to go to a new part of the United States, Boston and New Hampshire! A few weeks ago I wrote an article about the fall season in Florida and how different it was to other parts of the country. So now I got to experience what it is like in a very different place than Florida. This was absolutely stunning, to see other trees and not just palm trees.Â
I started off by flying into Boston, where I spent a few hours. While I was there I did a Duck Tour of the city (highly recommended this). This was about an hour and a half where I got to see the city of Boston and learn all the history. What I found interesting was the Boston Common park is the oldest Public park in the United States, not only that but it is also designed by the same architect that designed Central Park in New York. It was beyond beautiful! After about an hour on land the tour bus then drives into the Charles River where we see the Longfellow bridge, also known as the Salt and Pepper Bridge simply because the two pillars look like salt and pepper shakers. The tour then concluded at the Museum of Science. I did not go to the museum but it looked amazing. After this I then drove up to a condo in New Hampshire.Â
Yes I may be called a “Leaf peeper”- someone who goes to New Hampshire to see all the fall colors. But overall it was an experience and should be on everyone’s bucket list. When we arrived, it was slightly colder than I anticipated but that was okay. The next morning we went on a hike at Lost River in the White mountains. Once again being in the mountains with all the beautiful trees was just breathtaking, I was so happy to see the mountains after being in flat Florida for so long and not to mention the foliage. We did a few other activities before heading back home for the night. The following day we went for another hike to the cutest waterfall with crystal clear water, then followed by a Gondola ride at Loon Mountain. The view from the gondola at the top of the mountain is outstanding, just mountains filled with trees for as far as one can see.Â
Just being in the mountains again breathing in the fresh, crisp air clears your mind of all stresses and realigns your body. This was the perfect little trip to relax and recharge for the remainder of the semester. If you have not seen New Hampshire during the fall add it to your bucket list now!
