Here is an appreciation post to the elite squad of the dedicated detectives in New York City!
The 500th episode dives deep into Oliva’s past, someone showing up from her past. In this episode, I am excited to say we have recurring characters back, such as Nick Amaro, Capt. Cragen and medical examiner Melinda Warner! Law and Order Special Victims Unit is in its 23rd season, and so far, every single episode was pretty good! The 500th episode title, “Five Hundred Episode,” is the 6th episode in the 23rd season, and I got to say 23 seasons and 500 episodes. I mean, that’s incredible!
We have seen each character, especially Oliva Benson played by Mariska Hargitay and Fin Tutuola played by Ice-T, since day one. We had a spin-off show with Elliot Stabler, Christopher Meloni, Oliva’s original partner, when the show began. We have seen each character grow and thrive on their own!
Also, an even bigger applause to Mariska, who plays Oliva Benson. We’ve seen her grow into a confident boss woman, police detective, now a sergeant, and is overall excellent. She is strong, intelligent, and is the glue of the show! Eliot Stabler, ah yes, one of my favorites, although he does not have the best reputation. If you’ve been watching as long as I have, then deep down, you know he is a good person.
Even better, in season 22, we were reunited with the iconic police duo; Oliva and Stabler, who were once partners and are both on two different shows. Next is Fin detective Tutuola who is one of my favorites from the “elite squad”: he is the funniest on the show. The way he speaks, whether it’s integration or questioning, he never fails to make me laugh! His attitude, plus the side comments, is the best!
