Christmas is my absolute favorite time of year. I love everything about it – the music, the lights, and the food. Most of all, though, I adore the movies. My perfect holiday movie lineup includes a mix of newer movies and of course, the classics. There is something super comforting about the tradition of watching the same movies year after year. If you’re looking for a movie to watch this season, look no further!

Elf

This is number one on my list for a reason – I cannot get enough of Elf! Watching Buddy venture to New York City is equally as comedic as it is sentimental. There are so many iconic scenes that will be sure to make you laugh. In my opinion, this is the ultimate feel-good film of the season.  If you have never seen Elf, you are seriously missing out!

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

I have childhood memories of watching Rudolph year after year as my family and I cozied up to the fire. Even though some people argue that it’s a kid’s movie, watching it instills a sense of nostalgia that only comes this time of year. Plus, who doesn’t love singing along to the amazing soundtrack!

Christmas with the Kranks

Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis are the perfect pair in this holiday film. When their daughter Blair unexpectedly comes home for Christmas, they must scramble to prepare for the holiday – after they had planned to go away instead. It’s absolutely hysterical, and in my opinion, one of the best holiday movies because of how funny it is.

The Grinch (Illumination Version)

The newest version of the Grinch is a must see. It’s the same story you love, but it is still unique in its own right. I like that this version focuses more on the Grinch’s point of view. I didn’t like the 2000 adaption as much as the animated one, and I think this is a great updated version. Overall, it’s a feel-good film that the whole family will love. You can watch it on Netflix now!

The Polar Express

Watching this classic is my Christmas Eve tradition. I absolutely love the storyline. As a child, I always wished the magical train would pick me up on Christmas Eve; it reminds me of my childhood. Although some of my friends refuse to watch it with me because they think it’s animated too realistically, I think it’s a great film that reminds me of the magic of the season.

Although this Christmas will look different this year, I think the perfect way to restore some sense of normalcy is by watching your favorite holiday film. I hope that you check out these movies if you haven’t seen them already; they’ll be sure to put you in the Christmas spirit!
