Beauty Products I Can’t Live Without This Spring

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUM chapter.

Spring is right around the corner and it’s time for a Spring beauty reset. Here are some of my favorite products to try out this spring.

  1. Crabtree & Evelyn Petal Power Lip Scrub

If you’ve ever been a human being, there’s no doubt in my mind you’ve had chapped lips. I’ve lived through many a New England winter, and no lip products I’ve tried over the years have worked as well as this one. I tried almost every lip balm in the game before finally settling on Burt’s Bees as my go-to brand, but sometimes regular products just aren’t enough. I did an internship with C&E last summer, and I got lucky enough that they decided to send me some products- the petal power lip scrub being one of them. I tried it one day, was genuinely shocked at how soft my lips felt after a single use, and never looked back. It’s now become one of my holy grail products, especially throughout the winter. It has a sweet rose scent and a grainy texture that fully exfoliates the lips. I use it a few times a week, and always finish with regular lip balm over top of it to lock everything in place.

  1. Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer & Volumizing Hot Air Brush

I have consistently struggled with styling my hair throughout my life. My natural hair is super thick and wavy, and my constant use of regular hair dryers never seemed to help fix that problem. For Christmas 2021, my mom got me this Revlon product, and it literally changed my hair game. After the first few uses when I finally got the hang of it, I was emerging from the shower looking like I had just come from the salon. It’s so much easier than trying to hold a brush and a hairdryer and styling your hair that way. I’ve been using it for two months now and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to a regular hair dryer again.

  1. Jeffree Star Weirdo Mini Eyeshadow Palette

Everyone has their opinion on Jeffree Star and his cosmetics company, including me, but one thing I cannot deny is that his eyeshadow formula is one of the best I have ever used. I love doing all kinds of different eyeshadow looks, and recently I’ve been in a phase of darker, cool-toned looks complete with eyeliner. This palette comes with nine shades of greys, blacks, silvers, a red and a mauve, and it has been the one I have been picking up the most recently. I’ve created a ton of different looks with it, and I’m very glad it showed up under my Christmas tree in December.

  1. The Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Control Gel Cream

I’ve been into skincare for a while, but it took me about a year to find products I absolutely swear by– this moisturizer is one of them. I learned from the king of skincare himself, Hyram, that people with oily skin (like me) would benefit from a lighter, gel-based moisturizer instead of one that’s heavy and thick. A couple of years ago I discovered this one from the body shop, and it’s been the most consistent product in my collection. I think I’ve gone through about four containers of it so far.

  1. Raw Sugar Pure Scalp Therapy Exfoliator

I recently started dying my hair, and as much as I love it, I can’t deny that my scalp and hair have suffered from it a bit. My hair has become a lot more static, and my scalp a lot drier. I finally decided it was time to find a product to help combat these issues, and one day at Target I discovered the Raw Sugar scalp exfoliating treatment. This product uses charcoal, coconut oil and peppermint to help remove buildup and rebalance the scalp. I was skeptical, but it turns out I had no reason to be. After one use I noticed a huge difference in my hair, it was much softer, and there were a lot less buildup and flakes when I brushed it. And the best part? It’s super affordable– only $6.99.

  1. Sephora Collection Matte Deep Plum Eyeliner Pencil

In an article a while back, I wrote about my experience being a “purple person.” This of course translates into my makeup. I’ve always been an eyeliner lover, and for a while, I was trying to find a way to spice it up. I was at Sephora over winter break when I decided to take a chance on a plum pencil, and I am so glad I did. It gives a perfect small pop of color instead of my usual black, and it helps to open the eye up a little more. Sephora has a million colors of this pencil available, so I’d recommend trying one out if you’re looking to change up your makeup looks.

These are just some of my favorite beauty products! As we move into a new season, take a second to evaluate what your favorites are!
