Four things I am looking forward to this November

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUM chapter.

By the time this article is published, it will be early November. With the excitement of Christmas overshadowing pretty much the entire month of November, it can be hard to find the special things in a month that doesn’t hold the new excitement of fall and not quite winter yet. This year, however, there is a lot to be excited about this month. From music to movies to a break, here are four things to be excited about this November.

Marvel’s Eternals: November 5th

Who doesn’t love a new Marvel movie? The newest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe follows “a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations,” according to IMDB. Chloe Zhao, the latest Oscar winner for Best Director, is directing as the second woman to individually direct a Marvel movie. The cast includes many notable names, such as Angelina Jolie, Kit Harrington, and Salma Hayek. There is also a rumor that Harry Styles is showing up in the end credits as Thanos’s brother, which I’m very excited to see if it’s true.

Red (Taylor’s Version): November 12th

The inspiration for this article, the rerecording of Taylor Swift’s 2012 album Red is finally almost here! The highly anticipated second rerecording of Taylor’s albums, which were originally owned by producer Scooter Braun, includes 30 tracks, including eight tracks “From the Vault.” I’m excited to hear the entire album, of course, but my most anticipated vault tracks, which no one has heard before, are the 10-minute version of her popular song “All Too Well” and “Nothing New”, which features Phoebe Bridgers. Red is undoubtedly a fall album, so I can’t wait to listen during the month of November.

Succession Season Three: New Episodes Weekly

This is kind of cheating since three episodes of the Emmy-award-winning series on HBO Max will be out by the time this article is published, but a new episode will come out every Sunday this month, so it still counts. Succession is one of the best shows on TV right now, and I recommend everyone watch the two completed seasons on HBO Max. For those unfamiliar with the show, Succession follows Logan Roy, owner of a gigantic media company, and his family and executives. When Logan’s health gets put in jeopardy, questions of who will become the next CEO of Waystar Royco arise. The questions and the power struggle between characters, especially Logan and his children, power the plot. With fantastic performances, camerawork that will make you think you’re watching The Office, and an extremely catchy theme song, Succession is the best choice for your next show to watch.

Thanksgiving Break

Who doesn’t love time off and eating good food? I personally am very excited to go home, have a few days off from schoolwork, and enjoy my time at home. As someone who is close to my family, I am also looking forward to being at home with them and seeing my cats. Although I am outspoken about my dislike of turkey, I love other Thanksgiving foods, like pies and mashed potatoes. Thanksgiving also marks the beginning of the Christmas season, one of my absolute favorite times of the year.

Hope November treats you well and goes by as fast as October did!
