Students of Loyola: Andrea Cartagena

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUC chapter.
Students of Loyola: a take on the very exciting, emotional, and raw, “Humans of New York.” We want to capture the students at Loyola in a way that has not been done before. We want people’s joy and struggles to be out there, without forcing anything too much.

Meet Andrea Cartagena.

What was the happiest moment in your life?

June 18, 2018- It was the first day that I decided to journal, I decided to write for myself.  This was the first summer that I spent in Philadelphia at UPenn. I was working and volunteering at the hospital. I honestly never felt as carefree, independent and happy since that summer. So I feel that that specific day marked how happy I felt and a way of expressing it was by going by myself to a park and write.

What do you regret the most in life?

One of the things I regret the most is not standing up for what I believe and want in life in front of someone close to me.

I am a college freshman at Loyola University Chicago, studying English and Journlism.
