It’s finally fall which means it’s not just the best season for fashion or food, but for music. One of my favorite things to do when the weather gets chilly is put together a new playlist for the season.
I’ve discovered some great songs this year and included some of my favorites from this fall’s playlist below. I don’t know how exactly to explain this, but all of these songs feel just like cool, crisp air and the crunch of fallen leaves under your feet.
1. Young Adult – Ritt Momney
You might know Ritt Momney from his cover of Put Your Records On, but Young Adult is one of my personal favorites from him.
2. Salt – Golden Daze
The best way I could describe Salt is dreamy and somewhat psychedelic. I saw Golden Daze open for another band in 2016 and their music has been in heavy rotation on my fall playlists ever since.
3. Gap in the Clouds – Yellow Days
Gap in the Clouds has been one of my favorites for a long time. I could just replay the line where Yellow Days sings “life’s what you make it and I want to make it with you” a hundred times in a row.
4. Magnolia – the Essentialists
Magnolia by the Essentialists is full of energy and perfect for screaming at the top of your lungs. It reminds me of those last few drives that you can have with the windows down before it gets too chilly.
5. Motion Sickness – Phoebe Bridgers
This song is a little bit more of a downer compared to the rest, but I love it nonetheless. Phoebe Bridger’s Motion Sickness is just perfect to listen to on a chilly, fall morning.
6. Hazel – Roy Blair
Hazel has a great bridge and chorus that makes it one of my go-to songs from a brisk, morning walk in my neighborhood.
7. Epitaph – Hippo Campus
Hippo Campus is a band that seems to always be on my playlists, and their song Epitaph is one of my favorites not just for fall, but year-round.
8. Vagabond – Caamp
Vagabond by Caamp is short, sweet, and a song you’re sure to love. I don’t really know how else to describe it, but listening to it is guaranteed to make you want to take a spontaneous road trip.
9. Cherry Flavoured – the Neighbourhood
Cherry Flavoured is my favorite song off the Neighbourhood’s new album Chip Chrome and the Mono-Tones, which arrived just in time for fall.
10. Pretty Boy – Kevin Krauter
The mellow guitars and gentle vocals in Kevin Krauter’s Pretty Boy make the song feel just like an autumn breeze.
