Halloween Costumes for the Procrastinating Female

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LUC chapter.

Every year Halloween comes along faster than anticipated. There are people who plan their Halloween costumes months in advance, and there are those— like us— who wait until the very last minute. Are you looking for great, EASY, Halloween costume ideas that add a little humor to the holiday? We’ve got you covered.

Here’s what the Chapter CC’s of HCLUC came up with for the holiday season!

Madison:

Trophy Wife

According to Urban Dictionary, a trophy wife is “a young, attractive woman married to an older, more powerful man.” This costume, is fun, simple, and you can basically wear anything in your closet. For this costume a fancier cocktail dress, heels, a trophy, and a huge fake diamond ring will do the trick.

Rosie The Riveter

Dressing as a feminist icon is not only easy but showing support for your fellow ladies never goes out of style. Rosie the Riveter is a feminist icon from WWII. Although not a real person, Rosie was a symbol for all the women who took over men’s jobs when they left for the war. A denim shirt and a red bandana is all it takes to recreate this famous feminist icon.

Annie Kate:

Wonder Woman

She’s the hottest superhero of the year. Not to mention completely badass. However, I decided to be a little sillier, and I’m OBSESSED with puns. Rather than buying a costume, I printed out the Wonder Bread logo.

Formal Apology

This costume is also in the spirit of loving puns and not wanting to buy an actual costume. I threw on a little black dress, heels, black gloves, and a bowler hat. I am also not ashamed to admit that the sign was crafted RIGHT before I left for the night; all it took was posterboard and ribbon. As you can see, both of my costumes consisted of an all black outfit and a printed out sign— I went all out this year.
