At Loyola, you don’t have to wait for an art fair to enjoy stunning murals. A walk around Edgewater and Rogers Park is full of painted underpasses and colorful walls, just perfect for your next instagram post, inspiration board, or photoshoot!
Many of these projects were commissioned for the Rogers Park Mile of Murals, which was kickstarted in 2007 as an art initiative for the public. In the years since, pieces have been added and retouched, and the neighborhood continues to pop because of it.
While there are many examples of street art hidden just beyond the tracks of the redline (which you can find through interactive maps such as this one), there are plenty of beautiful finds within walking distance of Loyola’s Lakeshore Campus. So grab a friend and go check out some of our picks for the best street art around Loyola!
