This year, HCLUC is super excited to be branching out into other mediums (on top of the content our fantastic writers have been putting out). We recently published our first YouTube video – with more to come – and can finally announce our chapter’s FIRST podcast!

We (Diana and Shelby), will be releasing the first episode of “Getting There” next week, so today we’re here to talk about what you can expect from it! Each episode will be around 30 minutes long, published every Tuesday morning, and will feature a mix of guests and experts.

Shelby: It’s all in the title for this one. We’re both seniors in college and are just about as terrified as we are excited for what’s going to happen once we get our diplomas. Life right now, as young women on the verge of adulthood (but still clinging to the label of students), is a highly-pressurized, crazy-busy, and on-the-cusp moment. And we know that we aren’t the only ones feeling this way. Whether you’re also a college senior or you’re somewhere else on this journey, there’s something here for you. Between jokes, self-exposing stories, and our favorite pieces of advice, we’re going to look at topics that have helped us, as we continue to get there…wherever ‘there’ may be.

Diana: To be honest, this podcast means a lot to us. We see it as an opportunity for us to share our experiences with our listeners, as well as foster an environment where others want to join in. This is also a great chance for us to reflect on our college experience during our last year and verbally process what we’re feeling during this transitional time of our lives. The possibilities are endless, and we have a variety of episodes planned for the duration of the semester (and hopefully, the rest of the year!) We see this podcast living on past our time at Loyola, being passed on to other members and members after them.

Our first episode will deal with the all-too-real fact that we’re seniors now. We reminisce on how we ended up at Loyola, how we’ve seen personal growth over the last few years, and why we think being a senior feels so scary. It will be published on Tuesday, October 1, so mark your calendars and keep your eyes (and ears) open!

And what if you want to start your own podcast?

We’re here for it!! You can contact our team at hc.luc@hercampus.com to chat about your idea, how you can begin, and how we can help you. Our platform at Her Campus is here for you to create!
