Three Covid Friendly Valentines Date Ideas

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Louisville chapter.

Along with many other things, we are having to find new ways to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Due to the pandemic the normal Valentines day dinner may not be possible so it’s time to get creative. There are many things you can still do with your special one whether it is in person or virtually. Here are just a few of the many things you can do to make Valentine’s Day a special day for you and your significant other.

Set up a romantic home cooked dinner

Cooking dinner at home may sound like any other night but there are many ways to spice up this dinner. Making this a fun activity can make it more memorable. For example, split up who cooks the main course and who is in charge of desserts and appetizers. A fun dinner idea would also be to make personal size pizzas. This is a super easy dinner to make and can actually be really fun to customize your pizzas shape and toppings.

Don’t forget the set up. This is what is going to pull together your at home dinner date. There are many ways to do this. If you are wanting a more romantic setting light some candles and get dressed up. For a more relaxing casual setting, lay down some blankets in the living room and turn on a movie! There is no right or wrong way to do this so get creative!

Spa Night

Everyone needs a self care break, why not make a date out of it!? Turning this into a date can be relaxing and even romantic and won’t break the bank. Self care has no specific definition other than doing what makes you happy. To get extra creative you can each plan a facial for the other and take turns giving each other a facial. Homemade facials are always fun to make but you can always find some good sheet masks from target. Self care can also consist of being lazy together, pick up some of your favorite snacks, and maybe pull out some old board games. This can also be a great time to get to know each other more. There are many online resources that have many questions to ask each other that you would most likely never think of. There are also some games for couples such as copycat, the intimacy deck, and many more.

Murder Mystery Kits

This date is a bit more costly but totally worth the hype. Murder mystery kits are delivered straight to your door for you and your signifigant other to solve together. This can be a great bonding activity! If this is something you may be into I would definitely recommend. It is so much fun getting to crack into these murder cases.
