Walking through the grocery store a few days ago, I noticed the wide array of Valentine’s Day treats lining the aisles. Chocolates, candies, sweets—you name it, it was there. These gifts are perfect for romantic partners, friends, parents, and classmates, which is why they’re so readily available. But really with all of the options, how is anyone supposed to choose? To help you decide between all of the delectable sweets, I’ve ranked ten of the most popular Valentine’s Day treats.

10. Box of Assorted Chocolates

These are the red heart-shaped boxes that populate most of the space on the aisles. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that if you’re considering buying these, you’re probably not sure what the person receiving the box likes. It is true, with an assorted box, the recipient will probably like at least one thing inside. But there’s an equal chance that the person will only find one thing that they like. While this is a cheap option, my best recommendation is to opt for treats that will give you more bang for your buck.

9. Conversation Hearts

Conversation Hearts are probably the most classic Valentine’s Day candy there is. Who doesn’t remember their elementary school crush giving them a box? For nostalgic purposes, these boxes are a must. The hearts themselves may taste vaguely of chalk, but a box of these still could be a cute, romantic gesture, reminding us of our childhood. Plus, they’re one of the cheapest candies available.

8. Hershey Kisses

Hershey Kisses are classics that are already suited for Valentine’s Day. Still, you can get specialty Valentine’s Day packages with strawberry creme filled kisses. These chocolates are another cheap gift that you likely can’t go wrong with.

7. Sour Patch Kids Hearts

This candy is for those who like it sour. Sour Patch Kids has a specialty Valentine’s Day bag with heart shaped candy inside. This is a great Valentine’s Day themed option for those who don’t prefer chocolate.

6. Raspberry Creme Kit-Kats

Kit Kats are a fan favorite candy, which is what put them so high on this list. The chocolate covered, crunchy, wafers are also cheap with a bag costing less than $5. For Valentine’s Day, you can get pink colored raspberry creme kit-kats to give the candy a romantic flair.

5. Reese’s Hearts (Individually Wrapped)

I must admit, my own love for Reese’s helped get these chocolates so high on the list. If you’re a chocolate peanut butter lover, this is a Valentine’s Day must. The heart-shaped Reese’s have the perfect proportion of peanut butter to chocolate with a smooth exterior. I suggest the individually wrapped bag instead of one big chocolate heart.

4. Dove Chocolate Hearts

Dove Chocolate is a very smooth and tasty chocolate, as is. For Valentine’s Day these miniature wrapped chocolates are in heart form. Another great thing about this option is that each chocolate has a heart-warming quote on the inside of the wrapper. So, this choice has an extra dose of sweetness on the inside.

3. Ferrero Rocher

This is a box of chocolates that is actually worth buying. The wrapping gives the chocolates a classic and more expensive feel without sacrificing taste. These chocolates come in a variety of flavors, making this a good option if you’re unsure what your gift recipient likes.

2. Lindor Valentine’s Day Box

The Lindor Valentine’s Day Box gets a high ranking because it has it all. You can get an assortment of chocolates for lots of options—which all taste good—and they’re relatively cheap. The packaging on these chocolates is especially nice too, all inside of a heart-shaped box for Valentine’s Day.

1. Candy Bouquet

Who needs a flower bouquet when you can have a candy bouquet? The candy bouquet takes the number one spot here because it is the perfect option for Valentine’s Day. An assortment of candy bars are included inside, all tied up with bows and nice packaging to make it special for your special someone. Even better, you can customize these bouquets with the specific candy that the recipient likes. This option is the most expensive, but it also is the most likely to impress.

With all of the options to choose from, there’s no reason not to find the perfect treat for Valentine’s Day!
