It’s the dream shared by many young women; just a catch of the eye and its love at first sight, you envision a lifetime of happiness and you’re suddenly swept off your feet and into a fierce pair of shoes.

Whatever your type, there’s a special pair for every girl.

A great pair of shoes can be irresistible, a look turns into a twirl in the mirror and before you know it you’re pulling out your debit card to commit to a well-heeled romance. Sometimes it’s good to splash out on a gorgeous pair of boots or pumps, even if they are slightly above your budget, because you know that they will support you and look great with almost anything! If you’re on a budget then I would suggest buying a quality pair as they last much longer and save you having to buy another pair when you’re really broke!

I had a fling with a cheap pair of boots, it was great at first and we really turned heads when we were together. But sadly after a couple of months things started to fall apart, and by that I mean a huge whole had eroded the cheap material of the sole. I guess we just weren’t sole mates… After a while I found a perfect pair of Doc Martens and decided to buy them, this time I knew it was the real deal and these boots would support me through all weather conditions and terrains. We’ve been going pretty strong for about a year now, my Doc Martens and I.

My point is that it’s perfectly fine to treat yourself to awesome footwear every now and again, but I’m talking River Island or Zara not bank breaking Louboutins! If they are sturdy, comfy and look great then why not give into temptation? A year ago I invested in a great pair of boots and a fantastic leather jacket. And when my bank balance isn’t looking good, I’m still looking great because I invested in a few quality, key pieces that pull any outfit together. A killer pair of ankle boots really adds va-va-voom to the dress I bought for a fiver in Primark. So when I’m flat out broke I dress like a young woman who isn’t embarrassed to check her account balance in front of her friends!

My personal fave at the moment; Cut out Coltrane Boots. Snap them up for an absolute bargain here: http://www.newlook.com/shop/shoe-gallery/boots/black-chunky-cut-out-buck…

I'm a first year student studying Journalism, Film and Television at London Metropolitan University. When I'm not updating my blog or writing for my university's magazine, I like to workout, read girly fiction and go to the theatre. Make-up tutorials and trashy reality TV shows are my guilty pleasures!
