Having a clean face always makes us feel more confident; so why not put in a little effort to maintain that? Clean face and clear skin is something we all want and there are just few easy steps that can help.

  1. Wash your face twice a day

Make sure you use mild products and very light that help to clean clogged pores, oil and dirt.

Recommended products include:

  • Biore

  • Neutrogena

  • Clinique (personal favourite)

  • Cetaphil (this is for extremely light and sensitive skin)

  • Burt’s Bees – Radiant facial cleanser

  • La Roche Posay

2.  Use face masks

Whether you use sheet masks or clay masks, make sure not more than twice a week (maybe thrice) or you face would get very dry and create wrinkles at a young age. Face masks are very beneficial because they help restore the glow, and softness in your skin but frequent use isn’t beneficial.

  • Glamglow

  • Origins –  charcoal

  • The body shop – Himalayan charcoal

  • Biore – heat masks

  • Sephora sheet masks have worked on a lot of people

The charcoal masks that stick to your face when you post challenges on youtube may get you likes, but it damages your skin. Masks should be easy to remove and don’t let it stick hard on your skin or else it could cause excessive drying and loss of the essential oils. They are made to help you rejuvenate and make your skin take a break, don’t leave it on for too long and follow directions on the packet of the mask because each one is different.

3. TONER is IMPORTANT

  • I didn’t use toner till two years ago and it’s safe to say my skin feels so much healthier and cleaner when I use it. After a face wash and before moisturizing — toning the face maintains the pH of the face and removes the dead skin cells making you feel more fresh.

  • Kiehl’s

  • Clinique

  • Body shop (tea tree oil)

  • Nivea

4. At the same time sunscreen is important

most actors recommend reapplying sunscreen every 3-4 hours if you are outside your house (even if you are just sitting in a car). Applying sunscreen can prevent your skin from not only breakouts but also wrinkles, marks, pigmentation etc. (SPF 50 is the best)

  • La Roche Posay

  • Clinique (personal favourite)

  • La Mer

  • Dermalogica

  • Olay

  • Neutrogena

  • Vichy

5. NEVER pop zits (it leaves scars)

Just make sure you keep your face away from dirt and dust and wash it often. Maybe don’t use too much makeup on your skin and let it breathe for a while. Carry oil cleansing Neutrogena wipes or a rose water spray for instant freshness.
