A Professional Girl’s Political Recovery Guide to Dressing for Winter in LA

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

Update: LA welcomed winter this year in typical bipolar fashion with sunshine one day and a rainstorm the next. And during the overcast weather, the environment is more cold and windy than wet- I was seriously tempted to bundle up in a sweater and scarf with a warm cup of cocoa. (Okay that may be a little extreme- it was just overcast for a portion of the week but you catch my drift). The rain was barely existent that all you really need is a light raincoat and you are good to go.

Anyway, in honor of finally recovering from the election and Trump’s inauguration (took some time – I was in denial for a while), I have put together five D.C. friendly ensembles that could easily pass for chic, classic outfits on the streets of LA. And of course, despite the current discourse during one of the most divisive presidential elections to date, I’ve themed this week red, white and blue to represent my patriotism and commitment to American ideals as a whole. I know, I must be crazy to think there’s still hope given the discourse resulting from last year’s election, but I refuse to give up hope just yet. At least this way you can strut through the politics in style.

And with the results of our last election, perhaps a little patriotism could help us keep our faith in humanity, the system and America (as cheesy as that sounds).
