In the winter of 2009, America was blessed with a reality television show called Jersey Shore. Pauly-D, J-Woww, Snooki, Mike, Vinny, Ronnie, Samantha “Sweetheart”, and lastly added cast member Deena, stepped out into the scene with tans, hair gel, New Jersey accents, and controversy. Since then, reality television has never been the same. Here are six reasons why Jersey Shore is the greatest thing to happen to modern television.
1. The reality stars taught us cool new vocabulary unbeknownst to non-New Jersey natives, like “GTL”(gym tan laundry).
2. Fist pumping took off.
3. We learned the importance of a strong work ethic.
4. Snooki’s hair poof inspired millions around the world.
5. The importance of Sunday dinners was emphasized.
6.The show is an incredible source for memes.
Let’s face it, Jersey Shore was exactly the type of television that America needed.
