I have been invested in this story since Jessica Pressler published her New York Magazine article in 2018. I anticipate the twists and turns of this over the top story to translate well to television. Netflix describes the nine-part drama as “audacious entrepreneur or con artist? A journalist chases down the story of Anna Delvey, who convinced New York’s elite she was a German heiress.”
“Inventing Anna” is a Netflix limited series slated to be released on February 11. From the genius of Shonda Rhimes, “Inventing Anna” follows the German scammer’s rise to the top of socialite circles and her ultimate downfall. It’s based on Jessica Pressler’s account and investigation of Anna Delvey, real name Anna Sorokin. The series stars Julia Garner, Anna Chlumsky, and Laverne Cox. “Inventing Anna” is the Netflix series I’m looking forward to most this winter!
