Dressing Professional Without Breaking the Bank

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

Interviews. Internships. Presentations. So many aspects of college challenge us to be our best in many ways. Because of this, I’m looking forward to growing as a professional and as a leader throughout my college experience! Years of professional development have prepared me for the working world and I’m beyond grateful for that. I’m THAT person who absolutely loves interviews and blazers and going to work! I’m also that person who believes that once you look good, you feel good too. So, here are a few places where you can pick out a killer interview outfit or something new for your first day at your new job:

1. Old Navy

I never thought I would love to shop at Old Navy. However, their super soft blazers and incredibly cute slacks changed me! Not only are their clothes SUPER cute and inexpensive, but they have deals going on all the time. I have absolutely no problem getting the same button down shirt in three different colors since they’re so reasonably priced.

2. Target

I have yet to meet one girl who can’t stand going to Target. It’s the perfect place for all of your clothing needs: professional or not! I love buying their tee shirts and bulk, finding a super cute pair of slacks that aren’t like every other pair I own, as well as checking out their shoes. They have everything from comfortable flats to high heels that will make any outfit pop.

3. Boohoo.com

Trust me, I hate paying that shipping fee and waiting anxiously for my packages to arrive, but Boohoo is totally worth it! They have pieces that are perfect for any and every style! Whether your go-to outfit is a blouse and slacks or a dress is your power piece, this store has it. Additionally, their more casual selections are amazing and their sales are absolutely to die for.

The best part is that each store has something perfect for everyone, no matter style or preference. Although the options are endless, these three places are some of my personal favorites. I hope these options help you attack that interview or internship with class and sass!

I'm an avid lover of dancing, sushi, and musicals! In five years, I'll either be on Broadway, in your next favorite movie, or teaching!
