Coachella 2022: 5 Artists to Check Out

On Jan. 12, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announced its 2022 lineup of artists performing this April. The three most well known artists of the lineup, Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Ye, are set to headline the festival. Here are 5 smaller artists performing at Coachella that you should be listening to. 

Omar Apollo

Omar Apollo released his debut album “Apolonio” in 2020. The album displays his distinctive alternative, R&B pop sound. In 2021 he released two singles, one featuring Kali Uchis. Apollo will be playing on Friday, April 15 and Friday, April 22. Check out his songs “Bad Life,” “Go Away” and “Useless.”

Arlo Parks

Arlo Parks’ debut album “Collapsed in Sunbeams” was released in 2021. The album is loaded front to back with flawless tracks that show off her unique and addictive R&B/pop sound. Parks will be playing on Saturday, April 16 and Saturday, April 23. Check out her songs “Eugene,” “Too Good” and “For Violet.”

Raveena released her debut album “Lucid” in 2019. Her music is an ethereal mix of R&B and pop influences. She has already released one single in 2022 that showcases her signature dreamy sound. Raveena will be playing on Friday, April 15 and Friday, April 22. Check out her songs: “Rush,” “Tweety” and “Close 2 U.”

chicano batman

Eduardo Arenas, Carlos Arévalo, Bardo Martinez and Gabriel Villa formed Chicano Batman in 2008. Over the course of their career as a band, the group of four have put out four albums, their most recent being 2020’s “Invisible People.” Chicano Batman are beloved for their mix of rock, psychedelic, indie and soul sounds. Chicano Batman will be playing on Sunday, April 17 and Sunday, April 24. Check out their songs: “Black Lipstick,” “Passed You By” and “Color my life.”

rina sawayama

Rina Sawayama released her debut album “Sawayama” in 2020. The genre-defying album is filled with pop, R&B, and nu metal influences. Her music is infectious and she is sure to become a big name in pop music. Rina will be playing on Saturday, April 16 and Saturday, April 23. Check out her songs: “STFU!,” “Cherry” and “XS.”
