Watch out Los Angeles, Katelyn Afshar is making a name for herself and she is stopping at nothing to get where she wants to go. Aside from being the youngest applicant to produce a Studio 4 feature film, Katelyn is an avid photographer and a Soul Cycle enthusiast. Be on the lookout for the next star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame to be resurrected in the name of the poised, well-rounded and extremely talented Katelyn Afshar.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

“I love staying fit, so Soul Cycle and running at least 5 days a week is super important to me! I am a photographer, so I love going out on impromptu shoots, and I love spending time with my friends and family because they mean so much to me. I am really into music as well, so whenever there is a concert in town, good chance I am there. Finally, I really love just sitting down and enjoying a really great film. Whether it be one I’ve seen a million times or something I’ve never seen, the enjoyment I get out of seeing a project that resonates with me never gets old.”

Where did your passion for film stem from and why did you choose to become a Film and Television major?

“My passion for film really came from me just being absolutely infatuated with movies starting at a very young age. I really was inclined to study film and television as my major because I really hope to create projects that make a difference in someone’s life; whether that difference be to inspire, teach a lesson, inform an audience, or provide sheer entertainment. That is my greatest aspiration, and I hope to accomplish that.”

From one coast to the next (Florida to California)…how did you do it and why did you do it?

“I moved from FL to CA to pursue my dreams of becoming a filmmaker, and I was able to make the big move with the unwavering support of my parents and family, for without them, none of this would have happened. Also, lots of shipping boxes and airplane rides.”

Recently you were chosen as the youngest applicant to produce a feature film for Studio 4. Congratulations! What have you learned thus far? What is the best piece of advice you have received?

“Thank you so much! Overall, I just have learned so much about the industry itself, and really how much collaboration and cooperation is required to make an amazing film. The best piece of advice I have received is ‘work collaboratively, not competitively’. It really does lead to success.”

You’re on the go an awful lot. What is your go-to snack?

“VEGA ONE BARS. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup to be specific. Also rice cakes and almond butter (yum).”

What do you like to do on the weekends? Where can we find thee Miss Katelyn Brooke Afshar hanging out?

“I love going on Photography excursions, spending time with friends, watching movies, eating at really yummy vegan restaurants, and honestly just RELAXING. I meet at Studio 4 once on the weekends as well, so it’s all about balancing it all out.”

What do you want to be known for when you become famous or just in general?

“If I become famous one day, I want to be known for making creative works that inform, inspire, and connect individuals. No matter what format these works may take. I want to be known for innovation and quality. Aside from career goals, I want to be known for giving back to the community that has given me so much. I hope to start a foundation that will educate young adults about the creative sector, whether it be with underprivileged youth, cancer patients, or anyone else deserving. My biggest dream is to accomplish both aspects, career and philanthropy.”

Anything else you want the readers to know about you?

“Know that I am super friends and always love meeting new people, so don’t be afraid to say hi.”

You inspire all of us Katelyn. Keep being you and we cannot wait to see where life takes you.
