Name: Jared PearsonÂHometown: Dallas, TXÂYear: SeniorÂMajor: Graphic DesignÂWhen did you come up with the idea for your site, Wash With Like Colors? Tell us a litte more about it. When I was a freshman at LMU I got the opportunity to be a production assistant on a music video for Pac Div and Mac Miller. The scene I helped out with was shot in a laundromat. Shortly after I came up with the idea to interview people inside of laundromat’s about what they’ve been wearing lately. My target guests are people in the fashion and music industry. In each episode the guests bring in a laundry bag full of what they have been wearing lately. I also have a blog and a clothing line that supplement the showÂWhy a laundromat? I figured since the name of my show is “Dirty Laundry” why not play of every aspect of doing your laundry. A lot of the clothes have the wash symbols that we see inside of our clothing tags and play off of themes related to laundry.
Who can we expect to see in your first interview? I don’t want to give a way too much but the first episode will come out in November.ÂIs it a solo venture or a collaboration between a group? Currently I am running everything on my own but look forward to expanding and bringing more creative people to the table.ÂAnd there is also a clothing line involved with the brand? When/where can we buy it? The first run of clothing will be available online soon. Look out for hats, t-shirts and sweatshirts. My first retailer is a store called Centre in Dallas (www.centre214.com). The first collection of clothes will release at the store in November along with a pop up shop.ÂWho are your style icons? Sounds like an obvious answer but I’ve always looked up to Pharrell Williams and Kanye West. I really respect them because they are always ahead of the game. Once they do it, shortly everyone follows. I’m also a fan of Theophilus London.ÂWho would be your dream to interview? Over time I’d love to broaden the types of guests featured on the show. It would be cool to have someone on like David Beckham or Johnny Depp.ÂÂWhere do you want to see the brand 5 years from now? What do you hope to accomplish? Five years from now I hope to have my foot in the door and be able to to reach a wider audience. I would love to open a retail store one day and have a bunch of ideas if I get to that point.
