Best Vegan and Vegetarian Spots to Eat in L.A.

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at LMU chapter.

L.A. is the best place to be a vegan or a vegetarian! From restaurants in downtown to places in Santa Monica, there is no shortage of places to choose from! Over the past couple weeks, we have picked out some places where you can find some yummy vegan and vegetarian dishes!

Harvest Bar

Ambience: 7/10

Instagramability: 5/10

Creativity: 8/10

Deliciousness: 9/10

Southwest Bowl:

Cuban Bowl:

Overall, Harvest Bar was a great experience! We had the Southwest bowl and the Cuban bowl and both were super delicious! The Cuban bowl had “pulled pork” made of jackfruit, and the Southwest bowl had great yams. While the presentation and ambience wasn’t the best thing about harvest bar, it was still delicious! Harvest Bar is really close to campus and is a great place to stop for a quick breakfast or lunch!

Plant Food + Wine

Ambience: 10/10

Instagramability: 10/10

Creativity: 8/10

Deliciousness: 9/10

Spicy Ubon Bowl:

Cashew Raclette:

Plant Bowl:

Gianduja Cake:

With string lights and beautiful greenery surrounding you on the back patio, Plant Food + Wine is an excellent place for both food and photos. On the inside, elegant marble tables make for great snap stories of your meal, and some nights they even have films projected onto the wall! We both ate a TON here: the spicy udon (which really wasn’t that spicy), the plant bowl, the cashew raclette, and we highly recommend the Gianduja cake. All of it was delicious, and you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Just make sure you’re willing to spend some money!

Dreamy Creations Cupcake Truck

Ambience: 4/10

Instagramability: 7/10

Creativity: 6/10

Deliciousness: 8/10

Vegan Pumpkin Cupcake:

While Dreamy Creations is not exclusively a vegan cupcake truck, it has yummy options that are vegan! We both tried the vegan pumpkin cupcake with cinnamon frosting but they also have other vegan options. We rated the ambiance lower because it is a food truck so it does not have the atmosphere that a restaurant would. Regardless of this factor, we highly recommend the pumpkin cupcake so go to First Friday at Abbot Kinney and look for Dreamy Creations!

Word of Mouth Food Truck

Ambience: 4/10

Instagramability: 5/10

Creativity: 8/10

Deliciousness: 7/10

Cauliflower Buffalo Wings:

Grilled Cheese with Fries

Word of Mouth is a food truck also found on Abbot Kinney on First Friday and it only serves plant-based dishes! We tried the vegan grilled cheese and the cauliflower buffalo wings and they did not disappoint! The grilled cheese was perfect for a lighter dinner and the fries are amazing! The buffalo wings were also very tasty but they definitely cannot serve as a full meal by themselves. However, they are the perfect snack or appetizer!
