As a busy college student, my sleep schedule is a mess! I’m happy to say, however, that my favorite sleep aids help me get at least 8 hours every day, even if my sleep cycle isn’t naturally perfect.

Sleepy Lotion

LUSH’s Sleepy Lotion is super moisturizing and it’s lavender scent helps calm you down, which helps you to fall asleep. It’s perfect to apply after a nice warm shower right before bed.

Headspace

Headspace (https://www.headspace.com/meditation/sleep) is a free app that provides mindfulness exercises and meditations (including some sleep specific ones!) to help slow your racing mind down before bed.

Melatonin

Melatonin is a hormone that promotes sleep and comes in plenty of different supplement forms, my favorite being the Olly gummies to help ensure that you fall asleep, especially the day before a big event!

Diffuser

I never thought that a diffuser could help me as much as it has! I use a lavender scented essential oil to help me relax after a long day. Diffusers don’t have to be expensive, no matter what Urban Outfitters may tell you. There’s plenty of options on Amazon for less than $20!

Sleep Milk

When all else fails, I can always count on sleep milk to make me sleepy. Just like how your parents would always give you some warm milk when you couldn’t sleep, sleep milk is warm milk mixed with other sleep-promoting ingredients. There’s plenty of recipes online, but my favorite includes 1 1/2 teaspoon turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon.
