Spring Style Crush: How To Achieve The Beauty of Bardot

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Liverpool chapter.

Actress, singer, model: these are just a small number of fashion icon Brigitte Bardot’s talents. Whilst dominating viewer’s screens throughout the 50’s and 60’s with her sexy attitude and iconic look, Bardot was able to define and era. Now that’s what I call an independent woman! Her signature cat eye, natural curls and cascading blonde locks allowed her to take the world by storm. Here’s a quick and simple way to spring clean your look and add a little sass…

Bold Eyeliner: the only way to achieve her sex kitten look! Don’t worry if years of applying liquid eye liner have failed you, by applying a thick line of kohl eyeliner across your lid and using the liquid eyeliner to sweep up at the outer corners you can easily achieve this. I suggest Maybelline New York Master Drama Kohl £4.49 combined with the collection 2000 fast stroke liquid eyeliner £2.99.

Minimal, flawless skin: By using mineral makeup free foundation, you are giving your skin a chance to breath this spring, allowing it to ooze its natural health and radiance. Again, this is a sure way of looking as fresh-faced as the lovely Bardot! I suggest Pure Finish by Elizabeth Arden Mineral Powder Foundation No.9 SPF20.

A hint of pink: By adding a hint of candy pink blusher you will creating a fabulous flush on your flawless skin. We recommend Bourjois Pastel Joues Blusher Lilas D’Or, £7.49.

Less is more: Focus on the drama of the eyes for this look, but don’t forget a touch of creamy lipstick to add to that rose tinted affect. Mac Lipstick in Pervette £14 is perfect.

Nails: why not go that little bit further and opt for a dash of colour on your nails too, keep it to warm blushing pinks and neutral nude’s, we love Essie’s range of pastel colors ranging from £7-10.
