TV Blog: What Was On This Week?

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Leeds chapter.

Made in Chelsea Special

So this week I’ve decided to talk a bit about Made In Chelsea, as personally I think that the current series and cast are arguably the most entertaining so far. This series we have already had drama, romance and cheating, and we’re only a few episodes in! Who knows what they have in store for us for the finale…

The Spencer Scandal

Something has been exploding on Twitter and Facebook this week. Many viewers thought that on last Monday’s episode the villain that we love to hate, Spencer Matthews, seemed to be gurning a lot, with many suggesting that he was on drugs. Notorious party-boy Spenny has previously been caught on camera snorting cocaine, which he vigorously denied but eventually solemnly admitted and apologized. Reminds me of every time he’s cheated on a girl… Anyway, this recent drug shame could be a massive blow for him. Throughout the final segment of the episode he seemed slightly incoherent and was constantly flicking his hair back, chewing his jaw and speaking too quickly. All of this is word-of-mouth at the moment, but it remains to be seen whether anything more will come of this and if Spencer himself will acknowledge the rumours!

(Above, just a screenshot of a few of the comments made on Twitter about the episode)

The Jamie-Phoebe-Lucy Love Triangle

The Jamie-Phoebe-Lucy drama came to a head this week, with Jamie changing his mind once again and admitting to wanting a relationship with sour-looking Phoebe over MIC favourite Lucy.

Firstly, I don’t understand how Jamie is getting all these attractive girls fighting over him, especially after the amount of mistakes he has made with women so far. Louise, Lucy (last time), Binky and many others have been conquests of Jamie, and all have resulted in either him being indecisive OR Spencer getting involved.  This time, Jamie has managed to play two self-acknowledged sworn enemies off against one another for his affections. Well done, sir.

Jamie’s decisions this series have been ropey to say the least and he has, on numerous occasions, had my housemates and I all shouting at the TV. Mainly because we are all frequently shocked by how horrible and genuinely rude Phoebe comes across, yet still seems to get guys falling at her feet. Impressive!

And to top it all off…

I love how University of Leeds alumni, Andy Jordan, has started releasing his own music. I think it’s a brave step, particularly with nutty Cheska supposedly organising some of his gigs(!), but I definitely think he should take advantage of the fact he’s starring on MIC for the publicity. Plus I love how he has finally broken up with whiney Louise, whose crying has become her trademark recently…

What Shows I’m Looking Forward to in the Coming Weeks:

Snow, Sex and Suspicious Parents

A new series of the very popular Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents comes to BBC3 on Tuesday. Instead of parents following their children on their hot summer holiday in popular destinations such as Zante and Magaluf, they now follow them to colder parts of the globe, shadowing their children and seeing what happens on a supposedly ‘innocent’ skiing holiday. It should make for interesting viewing, I for one will definitely be tuning in to see whether what happens in the Alps, stays in the Alps…

I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here

The much-loved reality show recommences on the 17th of November and returns for its THIRTEENTH series, with Ant and Dec returning once again to challenge more terrified celebs with gruesome challenges. Rumoured ‘celebrities’ (sadly this term seems to have to be used very loosely these days) include Abi Clarke (The only way is Essex), Vicky Pattinson (Geordie Shore) and even possibly Big Mo from Eastenders. Regardless of the celebrities I know I’ll be watching, even if it is just for Ant and Dec’s hilarious skits that often have me in stitches.
