A Rainy Day Playlist.
For this week’s playlist, I’ve decided to base it on the theme of rainy days. Especially as during this time of year, its always seems to be raining. And in Leeds, even on the sunniest days it’s often also raining. It is always a pain to be outside and stuck in this weather but when you’re inside, watching the rain, in a way, its actually quite therapeutic and actually a lovely sight. But the best thing about ain is when it’s combined with a sunny day, particularly if you see a rainbow. I was lucky enough to see one during one of my induction days and it was beautifully set against a blue sky. I’m always used to seeing rainbows with a dark grey sky with them so it was so beautiful to see it with a colourful sky. Its really sweet to watch one drop fall after the other onto the window.
The rain back home is always worse, particularly during the winter, we had so many wet and windy days. It was always so sad to look out of the window and see a colourless world outside. The best things about those days is when the clouds try to clear. After seeing a dark and grey sky, its always really lovely to see a break of light in these gaps where the sun is trying to break through. Even as I write this now, I can see through my window a layer of dark clouds, lined with a bright border from the sun, dividing the dark and colourless clouds from the clear blue sky. Its funny how captivating the weather can be.
I don’t get this living here but when I was back home, several tiny birds always used to visit my garden. When the rain stopped, the bath tub was always full and all the birds used to bathe in it. We even had a pigeon that would sit and float in it, which was just about big enough to contain it.
If you need a break from studying for a while, or you’re stuck at home while its pouring it down outside, make yourself a hot cup of your favourite drink and watch the rain pour from the comfort of where you are with this playlist in the background.
