There are a few select things that make us proud to be British. David Beckham, Harry Potter, a Sunday roast, Top Gear…ok I’m scraping the barrel here, but you get the point.
However, there is one national treasure that goes rather uncelebrated by our wonderful nation. And that’s because most people forget she is actually British! Let me give you a clue: FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World 2011, number 1 on Maxim’s Hot 100 list and ranked number 15 on ‘The Money Girls’ list 2011.
If you still haven’t guessed which Devon-born hottie I’m talking about, perhaps this picture will jog your memory…
Miss Rosie Huntington-Whitely.
Voted ‘most likely to become a supermodel’ in her school yearbook, this British beauty has taken not only the modeling world by storm, but has also began forging herself an acting career that could knock Megan Fox off the radar (quite literally!).
And yes, I did get the Burberry Body perfume for Christmas just because she is in the ad!
Born in 1987, Rosie was spotted by Profile Model Management in 2003 and has since gone on to star in ad campaigns for Abercrombie & Fitch, Bloomingdales, Clinique, Ralph Lauren, Topshop, Burberry and DKNY to name but a few, as well as adorning the covers of Vogue, Elle and Harpers Bazaar, propelling her to international stardom.
Most notable is Rosie’s work with America’s number one underwear brand, Victoria’s Secret. Established in 1977 by Roy Ramond who felt embarrassed trying to purchase lingerie for his wife in a department store, VS has gone on to be the number one provider for women’s underwear, swimwear and loungewear.
VS established notoriety and global prominence for using only the most beautiful supermodels in the world throughout their ad campaigns, catalogues and store photography. Notable alumni includes Heidi Klum, Tyra Banks, Claudia Schiffer, Gisele Budchen, Adriana Lima and now, Rosie, who began her VS career in 2006 as spokesperson for the PINK brand. Rosie received her Angel wings in 2009 and has been a prominent feature of the yearly fashion show, with the exception of 2011 due to other commitments. Oh to be so busy you have to turn that down!
And for those of you wondering, Victoria’s Secret will open their first UK flagship store on New Bond Street, London in 2012. Now that’s an event you don’t want to miss!
Angel status comes along with numerous perks, including the opportunity to appear in Nationwide ad campaigns showcasing not only the girls’ hot bods, but also their acting skills – and yes I use that term loosely! Smart girl Rosie used this as a platform to secure her acting debut in June, appearing as the leading lady in ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’, securing herself a bright future in Hollywood. Is there anything this girl can’t do?! Potentially not an Oscar-worthy performance, but my lord she looks good in that white dress!
One thing in my opinion that makes Rosie so successful is her unapologetic sex appeal. With a figure to die for and curves in all the right places, she embodies sexuality to the max. If you’re not convinced, just type ‘Agent Provocateur – Love me Tender ft. Rosie Huntington-Whitely’ into YouTube! WOW!
Her full lips and lustrous hair makes her a hit with the guys; however, this is one lady that embodies the concept of girl power, establishing a great camaraderie with her fellow angels and receiving nothing but praise from the producers of ‘Transformers’ for carrying herself with grace, professionalism and a smile at all times.
In fact her beauty is so profound students of Harvard University are said to have conducted a study that concluded Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s lips and eyes cause the same effect to the brain as cocaine in men when faced with this image:
So if you’re looking for a new girl crush, look no further! Here are the top 5 reasons Rosie makes the grade:
1) She is a true English rose
2) She has THE dream job
3) She is unapologetically sexy
4) She maintains curves and natural beauty
5) She gets paid millions to be fit!
For those of you dying to know, here are her vital stats: 34-25-35, 5ft 9”, 54kg. Tiny bit jealous?! Its ok, me too! 2011 is the year of the English Rose.
