Fashion week has come and gone once again, and in the process, it has blessed us with next season’s most memorable looks, traffic-stopping Instagram shoots, and enough outfit envy to fuel us for the rest of the year. Yes, thanks to the likes of Instagram and Pinterest, we are far from done lusting over the hottest outfits from fashion week, and this can feel like a losing game as a student, where most loans won’t stretch to the cost of SS19 Chanel, or a flight to Paris, sorry.

As if things were not already bad enough, we all know that fashion week doesn’t end when the curtain goes down on a show. It is the style which floods the streets of London, Paris, New York and Milan which brings out the extreme outfit jealousy vibes. However, just because you can’t quite stretch to the same outfit which your favourite influencer was pulling off on the streets of Soho, there is no reason why you can’t steal some inspiration and recreate the look at a fraction of the cost, and inspire some more people around campus in the process. To help you out, we have selected some of the dreamiest looks, and found where you can get something similar for yourself:

Baker boy hats

Baker boy hats are absolutely everywhere at the minute, but that’s unsurprising when you try one for yourself and realise what an instant difference it can make to any outfit. From the Champs- Elysees in Paris, to the Duomo in Milan, these hats are no stranger to street style, as they have the power to accessorize almost every outfit and transform it away from the ordinary. If there is one thing to take away from this, it is that hats are for everybody, despite the misconceptions that you might not be confident to pull it off. Embrace the baker boy hat as part of your outfit, and you will never look back. Though you won’t need to search far, this baker boy hat from Forever 21 is a great place to start.

Faux fur coats

Autumn is the perfect time to invest in a faux fur coat because you can wear it for months before you have to think about hanging it up in your wardrobe. Faux fur is a rarity in that it looks incredible, and keeps you warm in the process. How could you live with yourself if you didn’t get behind possibly the only thing which is fashionable and practical at the same time? Fashion week saw the rise of almost every possible type of faux fur, from baby pinks and dark red, to checked patterns and of course, the iconic all-black coat. Before any more precious coat wearing time slips away, get yourself one asap (every second is precious, get yourself to Topshop for this piece right now)

Leopard print/ Animal print

Ok, leopard print is bold, but there is really nothing wrong with that. Uni is a time when you can completely reinvent your identity through your fashion choices, so if you are a stranger to leopard print, there is no better time to experiment with this fashion week favourite. It was, however, not only leopard print which lit up streets around the world earlier this month, it was every kind of animal print, from zebra coats, to snake patterned skirts. Similarly, shirts are the easiest way to inject just enough of a statement into your outfit, especially if you are an animal print virgin. Try this shirt for the perfect place to start:

Pink suits

If you don’t wear pink on Wednesdays, then you can’t sit with us, so buy yourself a pink suit and pull up a chair. Gone are the days when wearing matching suits were reserved for business owners over 40, with pastel pink coloured suits taking over our high street, and making them more than accessible for you to bring something new to campus. Why pink? We hear you ask, so we will tell you: pink will give you a burst of colour around the dark days of this autumn term, and if bringing colour into those dull 9am lectures isn’t a statement, then I don’t know what is. Look no further than this ASOS suit, and pay for next day delivery if Wednesday is approaching.

Hooped earrings

The bigger the hoop, the bigger the…

You know the rest. But I bet you didn’t know how big hoops were in Midtown Manhattan during New York Fashion Week. Pair these staples with a leather jacket (it is leather weather after all), and you will look like you’ve got your life together… even if your ever-looming deadlines and the 7th bottle of pinot this week suggest otherwise.
