The New Year is well underway, which means you might be thinking about giving your look an overhaul for 2016. Well you’re in luck, because I’ve come up with a pretty stellar list (if I do say so myself) of trends that are going to hit the bigtime this Spring. So if you’re suffering from what I like to call “dresser’s-block” when it comes to picking out the perfect spring outfit, here’s a small dose of inspiration.
1. Flower Power
Floral almost always comes to mind when thinking about spring and this year is no exception. If you want to comply with the latest fashion trend, go floral! Everything from floral dresses to jumpsuits to blouses are up for grabs.
2. Be the bomb(dot)com
If it’s not immediately apparent from the runways and street style, we’ll spell it out for you: the bomber jacket is in. Movies like Top Gun brought the jacket into the mainstream eye in the 80s, and now it’s a SS16 must buy. Bomber jackets were a huge trend at Milan Fashion Week, and are perfect if you feel like covering up for the pre-spring weather. 3. Give it the cold shoulder
If I had to choose just one trend to define the SS16 collections, it would be the peek-a-boo shoulder cut-outs silhouette. So forget cleavage and legs, your shoulders are officially the sexy new way to show skin. Let’s face it, if you’re carrying the whole world on your shoulders, there’s really no reason to carry your sleeves too.
4. Slip into something more comfortable
The slip dress is having a renaissance this spring! If Givenchy’s and Chloé’s SS16 collections are anything to go by, the 90s slip dress is making a full comeback. This spring you’ll be wearing your sexy nightie as a cocktail dress. Chic and comfortable!
