Top Ten Buys For This Summer

Shops are full of summery items at the moment and whilst writing dissertations it’s easy to slip away into a day dream of what summer will entail and what needs to be bought to make sure we are looking our best!

Here are my ten top buys that can be found on the internet for this summer;

Shorts – Summer wouldn’t be summer without some denim shorts – preferably ripped/slashed or embellished of some kind. For tailored shorts pastel colours are in and the high street shops are full of really sweet ones BUT beware…if you are going for pastel shorts and your skin is the pale english kind either get in that sun or choose a colour to compliment it.

Wedges – These are a girls best friend. The shape of a wedge heel always compliments a girls leg and there is nothing better to team a floaty summery dress or some jeans and a tee with a pastel coloured/wooden/bold wedge. I’ll be posting the ones i think are worth purchasing.

Bodies – I’m not always a fan of ‘bodies’ just because they seem to have become the clubbing girls staple and can be a bit over done…BUT…Topshop are offering up some really sweet white and floral ones and with a pair of tailored shorts or floaty skirt i reckon they are a perfect buy for multiple outfits.

Blazers – Pastel, white, bold, print – whatever kind you go for make sure you have one of these in your wardrobe as you really can’t go wrong with them and they can smarten up an outfit or be worn casual when it gets a bit nippy.

Shirts – Whether or not your brave enough to button it all the way to the top is one thing but I advise buying the best printed and embellished shirts this summer as they can be fun, smart and cool!

Jewelry – Wooden Jewelry is going to be big this summer so watch out for it. The theme of crosses, skulls and bones is still on trend so you can’t go wrong with any of the above and if it happens to be wooden you’ve hit jackpot.

Tank top – These are one of the most basic items a girl can wear and yet they can look so simply and sexy if worn the right way. Buy staple colours like white black and navy and wear alone with shorts or underneath your new jacket.

Skirt – I would have put a maxi on here but I am 5’3 so they just do not work for me SO I tend to go for the shorter kind hoping it will make me look taller. Whether you are small or tall these tutu esque skirts can be teamed with so many things, bodies, tanks, shirts and still look great so mix it up and try it out. Warning:Do not go for the ballerina look or the all black gothic tutu ensemble. If your skirt is nude then grunge it up with something boyish and if its black then get yourself something girly to even it out.

Accessories – I die for these belts from Topshop, they are such nice colours and would look great with shorts and a plain tee or even a smarter outfit. These socks can be seen as quite hipster but you don’t have to own creepers to try them out. Team them with converse or vans and some shorts a tee and a golden tan.
So get filling those baskets with summery things girls and hopefully summer will come quicker!
