National Television Awards

London’s O2 arena played host to the annual National television awards on Wednesday; the one night a year when TV stars of every genre come together under one roof to glam up and party. The winners of the awards are voted for entirely by the public, who are able to vote for their favourite soap, drama, actors, reality amongst many others. The award known for causing the most rivalry; the ‘Best Serial Drama’ category was won by Coronation Street, whilst the X Factor won the best Talent Show award and Celebrity Juice won the best Panel Gameshow. The biggest gossip of the night however was the goings-on after the awards show, when drunk celebrities took to Twitter to post photographs taken backstage. A personal favourite of mine is this photo posted by Holly Willoughby posing with Ant and Dec and their two awards…

Harry Styles and Caroline Flack Split

It was the relationship which caused a nation-wide debate over whether being a ‘cougar’ really is acceptable, particularly when the boy that is being pursued is not yet classed as an adult. Xtra Factor presenter Caroline Flack and One Direction heartthrob Harry Styles had been dating for three months until Harry confirmed via twitter this week that they had mutually decided to split. Harry was keen to make it  clear that he ‘did not dump Caroline’ and described her as ‘one of the sweetest people I know’,  the news will no doubt please ‘one direction-ers’ who were reported to be sending death threats to Flack for dating someone 15 years her junior.

Tulisa and Fazer Split

They say that January is the worst month for relationships, and this seems to be true for celebs this week as Tulisa Contostavlos also broke up with her N-Dubz band mate boyfriend Fazer. The pair were recently pictured looking loved up on holiday in the Maldives, however separation rumours appeared to be true after the pair were reported to have had ‘a series of bust-ups’ and have decided to go their separate ways despite being in a band together. However they will be able to avoid any awkward working-with-your-ex scenarios for a while as Tulisa is confirmed to be currently working on a solo album without Dappy and Fazer.

Amanda Holden Gives Birth

The Britain’s Got Talent Judge is currently in the process of filming the audition stage of the show, however the other judges are having to make do without her for a while after she was rushed into hospital due to complications after going into labour. Amanda gave birth to a baby girl called Hollie Rose, however it is reported that the birth left her in a ‘critical condition’ for three days whilst her baby was put on a respirator. The TV star has suffered two miscarriages in two years and was ‘delighted’ to be expecting another daughter on announcing her pregnancy in the summer, but the circumstances meant that Amanda was unable to hold her new born child for three days due to her condition. Both Mother and baby are now on the mend.

Demi Moore Admitted to Hospital

Newly single Demi Moore was rushed into hospital on Monday ‘seeking professional assistance’ due to stress and exhaustion. However, since the event, the tape of the call to the emergency services to request help for Demi has been released and suggests deeper problems than just psychological issues. The woman who made the call on her behalf is heard describing Moore as ‘shaking, convulsing and burning up’ and admitting she had smoked something – not marijuana. Demi’s ex-husband Ashton Kutcher flew to Los Angeles on the same day that she was released from hospital and is said to be ‘deeply concerned’ for her health.
