Girl Power…EVERYWHERE!

Women are bringing it these days! There are so many strong women proving that girl power still exists in the media, in a positive way. Here are a couple of the hottest women on the scene right now!

Beyoncé.

Not only did she rock the Superbowl Halftime Show, but shut off the power in the stadium (just kidding…well…maybe). About a day after the Superbowl, Beyoncé announced her Mrs. Carter world tour starting in Serbia and ending in New York City. This will be her first tour since having her baby last year. On Saturday, February 16th at 9 p.m. her documentary will premiere on HBO. This will show everything from her miscarriage, pregnancy, concerts, and of course the one and only Jay-Z. But she’s not done yet. On the same night only an hour before her HBO special, Oprah has an interview with the Queen Bey herself on the OWN network at 8PM.  This woman is unstoppable! Not to mention it sounds like she will be releasing a new album sometime this year. The thing that is so amazing about Beyoncé is how graceful and mature she handles everything. She is respectful and always extremely grateful for all of her success.

Jennifer Lawrence.

You may know her as Katniss from the Hunger Games. But that’s not her only claim to fame. Just this year, her new movie called “Silver Linings Playbook” hit theatres. This movie also has a star studded cast with Bradley Cooper, Robert DeNiro and Chris Tucker. Jennifer has been nominated and has won several times for “Best Actress” in this film. Her acting in “Silver Linings Playbook” was absolutely phenomenal. Her character in the film was a very cynical woman, but you can’t help but love her; that’s how you know she is a great actress. Ms. Lawrence’s biggest nomination would have to be the Oscar’s, which she will be attending on February 24th. The thing people, especially women, love most about Jennifer is her down to earth personality and her kind of “real girl” attitude. She has said time and time again that she is not a size zero and is proud and happy of the way she looks. Jennifer Lawrence definitely proves to women everywhere that staying YOU is the best way to succeed in life.

Zooey Deschanel.

Has got to be the cutest woman on TV right now. With her hit TV series “New Girl” Zooey has brought back the real life “girl” in all of us! You might also know her as Buddy’s love interest in “Elf” (she dyed her hair blonde) or the simple and beautiful Summer in “500 Days of Summer” alongside the handsome Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Zooey was nominated for a Golden Globe this year in the category “Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series”. Her character in “New Girl” is a woman who is going through life living with three guy roommates. The shenanigans and dialogue between the four characters are absolutely hilarious. Each episode gives you a new situation that will leave you laughing for hours. Zooey does a fantastic job at being the vulnerable only girl in an apartment filled with three grown men. One of my favorite and most inspirational quotes from Zooey is from her interview in Glamour magazine she did this February; “I never stop myself from doing something because I’m afraid of what people might think.”

Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

These girls are ruling social media like it is their job. With Kylie’s never ending gorgeous “selfies” to Kendall’s cute fashion pics, these two are on trend for sure. But that’s not the only thing the Jenners are up to. They recently just launched their first ever clothing line at PacSun stores. Kendall and Kylie have both said this clothing line is inspired by their everyday California life…must be nice. From jean jackets to fringe scarves, this line is already a big hit with the youth of America. I think the reason these two girls have such a big following is because they are always on trend, always positive, and know how to be a kid; without breaking the law. They are extremely mature for their ages and I think they are great role models for younger girls. Whenever something happens with their large family they just calmly address it with no vulgar terms and a great sense of understanding. These two girls are going to be the voice of the next generation and are already ample leaders.

It seems to be that today in the media, women are growing stronger and stronger by the minute. I love that we can proudly say we have some really fantastic women to look up to in our lives. All we can do is keep giving support to women everywhere that they are beautiful and can achieve anything they dream of achieving.
