You seem very comfortable on stage. Have you always been this comfortable?
It’s very rare that I’m ever at ease on stage. I love what I do and I’ve been doing it for years. If i seem comfortable I thank you for the compliment!
Did you act in high school?
Yep. I did several shows for my high school including Sweet Charity and Brigadoon. (No, I didn’t wear a kilt)
How many plays have you been in at Le Moyne? Which one was your favorite? Why?
I’ve been in 5 I think. I could never choose a favorite because they are all so distinct. I’ve played an Irish brother, a French painter in drag, a Yeti and several others. Who could choose?
In your last play, On the Verge, you play a number of different roles, how was that experience overall?
It was a blast! I love playing mulitple characters in one piece.
What are some things you do before a performance?
I tend to stay to myself. I focus my mind on the task at hand. I sit in the audience and envision myself watching different scenes that I’m in. Then I try to see if I can somehow make those scenes more poignant.
Have you had any embarrassing moments on stage?
Plennnnntyyy. 1.) I was in Forever Plaid and singing a song called Chain Gang with 3 other gents. During the song, a ketchup bottle is suppose to be knocked with a knife. So we were in the middle of the show with white tuxes on and in the middle of chain gang on of the guys hits the bottle and SMASH. Ketchup went everywhere, all over us, the audience. It was awesome! (And embarrassing as hell) 2.) I was in “Is He Dead?” here at LeMoyne, and my dress ripped in back. You could see London and France- it was funny!
Who is your favorite actor/actress?
I have no clue. Robin Williams? Tom Hanks? Morgan Freeman? Seth Green? I don’t have any idea…
Aside from acting, what are your other hobbies?
I love to play guitar, hang out with friends here at Le Moyne, sit with my dog and drink beer. I also like Karaoke I guess?
What are your future plans?
Not sure, I’ll audition if the right roles come along. However, right now I’m focusing more on producing, directing, and getting married. If you want to follow my theatre company (shameless shout out), “Like” us on facebook- Central New York Shakespeare Inc.
