Happy Finals Week ladies! I’m back for Music Monday except this week I’m changing it up a bit for this week.
I know with all the stress finals week brings you all probably want to kick back and ditch the studying BUT keep on going ladies, the end of the semester is so near! I decided for this Monday I would pick the rapper Mac Miller. Mac Miller is not new to the game and has been around since 2010 when he first broke out in the industry with his mixtape, “ K. I. D. S. “ and ever since then his success just has been rising.
Why you Mac Miller you ask? Well since it’s finals weeks and I’m living in the library , I wanted to share one of my study tactics, which is that I make a huge Mac Miller playlist and let it play for hours until I finish studying. That’s what works for me, his raps go from really energetic to pump you up to start studying and his songs even go slow and calm which may help you focus, so maybe his music can work for you ladies too!
( P.S. I’m also a HUGE Mac Miller fan too )
He has only two official albums out but he has many mixtapes out there. I’m going to share what my favorite mixtapes and albums are on my massive Mac Miller library playlist.
My top mixtape is “ Macadelic” which is Mac’s seventh mixtape that he released in March of 2012. The songs on the tape are not very energetic but focus more on life and Mac takes you on a journey of all his life stress and what goes on his mind when he’s stressed. The songs have an awesome slow beat that will have your head bobbing in seconds.
My second favorite is his album “Watching Movies With The Sound Off” , this album has a wide array of songs from deep and emotional songs, like his song ,” REMember Me” which is a eulogy for his best friend Rueben Martinez who passed away. The album also contains that songs that are motivational like “Avian” and crazy energetic songs with just a fun beat like O.K. featuring Tyler The Creator.
If you’re looking for songs with a jazz feel to it why not try my third facorite ep, “You” under his altergo Larry Lovestein & The Velvet Revival. This ep has songs without any rap but instead soft jazz instrumentals with Mac singing.
Surprisingly these songs have me focused so maybe you can give them a try if you find yourself struggling to focus!
Good luck on finals ladies, kick butt!
Xoxo
