It’s Monday again ladies so you know what that means… time for Music Monday!
This week for my artist of the week I chose: “Chance the Rapper”.
I’m a fan of all different kinds of music and I do dabble in the underground rap scene and if any of you ladies are into that kind of music or are interested in trying it out then I definitely suggest giving Chance The Rapper a try!

Chancelor Bennett, better known by his rapper name Chance The Rapper is from Chicago and is only 20 years old. Chance has made a name for himself in the rap game in such a short amount of time and for all good reasons. Chance made his first mixtape in 2011 called “10” Day which gained him some attention but after his second mixtape in April called “Acid Rap”, Chance the Rapper surprised many people with his raw talent and eloquent rhymes. After “Acid Rap” Chance’s name was in everyone’s mouth and his success has only been rising since then. Chance announced that he was going to release “Acid Rap” on April 30th of this year and before he could even release it, it was leaked a few minutes early and it was trending worldwide. Chance created a huge buzz and was causing sites to crash because of the high-demand for “Acid Rap”. Chance gained the respect of music critics and other rappers in the game. The mixtape even received a nomination for “Best Mixtape” at the 2013 BET Hip Hop Awards.

The reasons for Chance The Rapper’s huge success is because he is just so real and it shows in his music and the messages he shares with his fans. His songs talk about his past life experiences, the good and bad that most of us can relate to. His genre is a little jazzy and has many psychedelic aspects to it that make it unique. My favorite part about Chance The Rapper that had me falling in love with him was his quirky dance moves and his energy during his show is on another level. I was lucky enough to see him perform this summer in Rhode Island and New Jersey and he has the entire crowd jumping and full of energy. His set and his music is just feel good and catchy and if you want to dive into something new check this cutie out!
