El Progreso’s 20th Annual Latino Banquet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

El Progreso, a Latin based club on campus hosted their 20th Annual Latino Banquet. These banquets are to celebrate and embrace not only Hispanic culture but all cultures. In light of it being the 20th year, a big one, El Progreso took us back in time to the Roaring 20’s as well as inviting alumni. This was the first time in El Progreso history that alum are invited to participate at the event, as well as inviting an alum to be a keynote speaker.

Mercedes Sanchez was a special guest and could not have rocked her speech more! If you don’t know who she is, get familiar! Mercedes graduated in 2004 and is now an on air stylist, spokesperson, and the founding editor of her very own fashion, beauty, and entertainment blog BeChicMag.com. She was full of life and extremely personable, we could all tell that she was and still is indeed, a dolphin.
