This song has a dance-y pop beat including a fast paced string section leading up to the incredibly compelling chorus. Demi shows off her insane range when she belts out the main theme of the song “heart attack” with everything she has in her. You can try all you want to mimic her insane voice, but you just can’t.
Demi knows how to relate to girls and women through her honest lyrics, “you make me glow, but I cover up, won’t let it show…” All us girl’s almost have this hidden bond and Lovato makes a valid point by telling a story of how easily girls can get damaged from previous relationships. It’s not a secret how girls become very cautious and guarded by singing lyrics like, “putting my defenses up, cause I don’t wanna love in love, if I ever did that, I think I’d have a heart attack…”
The thing I love the most about Demi Lovato is she always sings about personal experiences and never performs something she doesn’t believe in, seems hard to find that in the music industry these days. She speaks for girls everywhere and is an incredibly humble, young role model.
