13 Lessons Every Female Can Take Away from Sex and the City

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Le Moyne chapter.

Sex and the City may have been ended 12 years ago, but the show still has lessons that today’s 20-somethings, 30, and 40 year olds alike can take away. Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte teach us about love, careers, friendship, and girlpower… oh yeah, and sex. Here are 13 life lessons we can learn from our favorite New Yorkers.

1. If you’re not married by 40, it’s not the end of the world.

Just because all of your friends are, your life isn’t over if you’re not.

2. Age is just a number.

3. The best relationship that you can be in is with yourself.

At the end of the day, that’s the one you’ve been in the longest.

4. The importance of exercise.

Bags are the same as weights, right?
5. Be proud of being a workaholic.
6. A girl can never have too many shoes.

…or clothes

7. Don’t ever stop being a hopeless romantic.
8. If he apologizes, he’s keeper.

Seriously, don’t let him go!
9. Talking about sex doesn’t have to be taboo.
10. We’re not all models, but that’s okay!

You’re still flawless.
11. Vacations with your friends are a must.
12. Confidence is key.

13. We all deserve that “BIG” love.
Remember ladies, hold your girlfriends tight and your Manolos tighter.
A tattoo loving, social media addict with a slight coffee addiction. Stay caffeinated.
