It was the perfect fall night for Men’s soccer this past Wednesday. The guys were gearing up and ready to win, scoring their first goal, courtesy of their captain, David Caprile, in the first 5 minutes. The ball remained on St. Norbert’s side for the majority of the first half before Vince Butita scored his first goal of the night.

Not to be outdone, the Green Knights came back in the second half to put in their own two goals, much to the dismay of Vikings’ players and fans alike. Fortunately Butita, ready to bring home a win, scored his second goal of the game to put Lawrence back in the lead. All was looking well for the Vikings as they continued to dominate the field and run down the clock. With less then a minute left in the final half, though, St. Norbert was graced with a penalty kick and one last chance to tie up the game. Goalie, and WASEDA student, Taiju Oki sealed the deal for his team, blocking the kick and securing the game. Things are looking up for the Viking’s, now with 2 conference wins under their belt. So while fall is still gracing us with beautiful soccer weather, be sure to come out and support your fellow students at a soccer game this season.
