I know I speak not only for Lawrentians, but the vast majority of collegiettes™ when I say that sales are my best friend. Why fall victim to over priced merchandise? My philosophy is that no one should, and that means you too! Some of the best sales happen in January and they’re going on NOW.

Being that most stores out there are now digitized, it makes shopping a whole lot easier for the average collegiette™ fashionista. As it is now third week (how did that happen?) we’re becoming more aware that mid-terms are not a distant reality, so our focal point is getting our studies in order- not sifting through unorganized sale racks at Fox River Mall. I’ve found some killer online sales that should save you time and money.

If you’re a celebrity gawker, then Singer22 is the site for you. It chronicles the hot new trends and enviable style of some of your favorite celebs. Not to mention- they’re having a sale, and some items are up to 90% off. Spare some time after lunch at Andrew Commons, and give it a few clicks!

And for fashionistas of varied individual style, ShopBop has everything, literally. The prices can be quite high, but they’ve put some hot items on sale for up to 70% off! Shopbop is a comprehensive site that is well worth your while. Check out this demure black dress, priced at $67.80 it’s marked down from $226.00! That’s a steal!

The next online shopping hub up is a boutique called CUSP. With stores on both the East and West Coasts, (and the Midwest!) they’re accessible for many as they’re located within large metropolitan areas. If you haven’t heard of CUSP before this article, it’s a sub-division of Neiman Marcus, so you know you’re going to find all the best clothing and accessories out there.  The store carries Nicole Richie’s jewelry line, House of Harlow, and some of her pieces are on sale! Check out her 14K gold-plated horseshoe necklace for only $29.00!

Even though Forever21 is often our go-to store for affordable clothing and jewelry, the store caters to its large customer base by reducing the already low prices even more! This super-cute slouchy blue cardigan looks perfect with a white tee, leggings, and brown boots. The upside? It’s only $12 bucks. That’s the kind of sale I’m talkin’ about.

Online shopping (and deal hunting) can be equally as rewarding as physically being at a store, only you’re saving yourself a headache and the frustration. So go ahead, give your winter wardrobe a minor face-lift – without breaking your wallet. But beware! Online shopping is known to be addicting and is a hard habit to drop. And remember- the best trick is to wait until mid-January to purchase from sales, online and on-land. You will typically find what you loved in the fall available for up to 70% off. Happy Hunting!
