It can be difficult to get into the holiday spirit as a college student. The first few weeks of December are finals season, rather than the holiday season. As a holiday enthusiast, it bums me out holiday cheer has to go on the back burner. However, I think I have found a way to start celebrating the holidays while finals are in full swing. Here are a few ways to celebrate the holiday season during the stress of finals season…
- Walk/Drive Around to View Christmas Lights
A walk or drive is a great way for you to clear your head. Christmas lights always cheer me up. It is a great combination to take a break and relax.
- Holiday Coloring Sheets
Adult coloring books have grown in popularity over the years. Holiday-themed coloring sheets are everywhere online, and easy to print out at your school’s library or printers around campus. Grab some coloring supplies and color your heart out!
- Listen to Christmas Jazz/Instrumental Music While Studying
Instrumental and Jazz music always seems to help me focus while completing homework or studying. Christmas tunes always sound better in jazz-form, so it is a great cozy mood-setter while finishing up assignments.
- Enjoy Your School’s Winter/Holiday-Themed Events
Remember to enjoy your school’s fun events that they are offering during the final weeks of the semester. For example, at Lasell University, I attended Stuff-a-Plush! It was a fun event where we got to stuff a cute plushie. I was also able to attend Lasell’s Bingo and Winter Carnival. All of these events are great for getting your mind off of finals while having fun with friends on campus!
